(ERTF) is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide professional services for the planning, design, and preparation of construction-ready bid documents for a regional wayfinding signage system serving the Elk River Trail which includes the Elk River Trail (a 73-mile rail trail with an 18-mile rails-with-trail spur), the 102-mile Elk River Water Trail, and the Trail Town communities of Sutton, Gassaway, Clay, and Clendenin, West Virginia. A map of the area is included on this web page: elkrivertrail.org/trails Services include existing conditions assessment, development of a corridor-wide wayfinding master plan, sign location planning, design of a coordinated family of wayfinding signs, preparation of construction-ready plans and specifications, and limited procurement and fabrication support. This project is expected to include approximately 20-35 signs across the four Trail Town communities. Qualified firms with demonstrated experience in wayfinding systems, transportation planning, landscape architecture, graphic design, engineering, or similar professional services are encouraged to submit proposals. This project is funded in part through the Appalachian Regional Commission, and all applicable federal, state, and local procurement requirements shall apply. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
