The scope of work includes replacement of approximately 60 lead, galvanized iron and lead lined services throughout the Town of Saugus. Additionally, approximately 60 exploratory excavations are to be performed at locations suspected of having lead , galvanized or lead lined services, with removal and replacement of those discovered to be constructed of lead, lead lined or galvanized iron. Work shall be performed in the public right of way and on private properties. The Contractor shall secure right of entry and local permits required to perform the work. Scope shall also include, but is not limited to, preconstruction coordination and premise inspection; furnish and installation of underground water service lines and appurtenances, including new copper tubing, corporation stops, curb stops, service boxes, and unions; coring and sealing of service entries to basements; interior plumbing as required to plumb new piping through the meter setting; and comprehensive surface restoration in the public and private right of ways Bonds: 5% Bid Bond, Certified Check required.
