The City of Centralia is planning the redevelopment and expansion of the Fort Borst Park/Tennis Court well field to increase potable water production capacity, reduce PFAS exposure, improve compliance with new state drinking water standards taking effect in 2029, and provide redundancy within the municipal water system. The project will increase reliance on lower-PFAS wells near Fort Borst Park and reduce dependence on the Fords Prairie well field. Estimated initial project cost is $8.35 million, with anticipated state grant participation.
