Construction of a walking trail in Linn City Park. Contractors are encouraged to visit the project site prior to submitting a bid. The City reserves the right to make minor field adjustments to the alignment as necessary during construction. Project Description The City of Linn is soliciting sealed lump-sum bids from qualified contractors for the construction of a new concrete walking path within Linn City Park. Funding for this project has been allocated through Legends Bank. The successful contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision , and incidentals necessary to complete the project as specified herein. Project Scope The work generally consists of the construction of approximately: o 1,020 linear feet o 5 feet wide Approximately 5,100 square feet of reinforced concrete walking path . The Contractor shall provide one complete lump-sum price for all work necessary to complete the project. Project Specifications The walking path shall be constructed in accordance with the following minimum specifications: . . o Concrete shall be 4 inches thick. Concrete shall have a minimum compressive strength of 4,000 PSI, air-entrained. Reinforcement shall consist of #4 rebar spaced 24 inches on center each way. Concrete shall be placed on a minimum 4-inch compacted aggregate base. Finished surface shall have a light broom finish . o Expansion joints shall be installed where required. Control joints shall be saw cut at appropriate intervals in accordance with industry standards. All work shall comply with applicable ADA Accessibility Guidelines. Existing Grades and Elevations The walking path shall generally follow the existing ground elevations and contours of Linn City Park. The Contractor shall perform all grading necessary to provide a smooth, uniform walking surface while maintaining proper drainage and minimizing disturbance to adjacent areas . Minor field adjustments to the alignment or elevations may be directed by the City during construction to avoid existing trees, utilities, drainage features, or other site conditions. ADA Requirements The new walking path will connect to the existing sidewalk at two locations. The Contractor shall: o Saw cut and remove approximately 15 linear feet of existing sidewalk. o Properly dispose of all removed materials. o Construct ADA-compliant landings with slopes not exceeding 2% in any direction.
