Site work and renovation of a museum in Tyndall, South Dakota. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum; and for site work for a museum.
Labor only to replace existing handicap-accessible ramp. Successful bidder shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, supervision, and incidental items necessary to complete the work. The City of Tyndall is requesting a lump-sum labor bid to construct a new elevated composite deck/walkway system and aluminum guardrail system at the Tyndall Train Museum. The work generally includes layout, post and framing installation, composite decking, fascia, stairs/step transitions shown on the drawings, blocking, and aluminum railing installation. The City will purchase and furnish the listed construction materials The contractor shall base the bid on the attached concept drawings but must field-verify all dimensions, elevations, clearances, post locations, existing conditions, and quantities before beginning work. Any discrepancy shall be reported to the City before installation. Attend a preconstruction/site meeting with the City representative and review the drawings, access, staging, elevations, and sequencing. Lay out the complete deck/walkway, landings, transitions, stairs/steps, posts, framing, blocking, and rail locations in accordance with the attached drawings and verified field conditions. Excavate or prepare post locations as required; set posts plumb and at the specified depth/elevation; place concrete; brace posts until cured; and restore disturbed ground around each location. Install treated framing, beams, joists, headers, rim boards, bridging, and blocking. Joist spacing shall follow the drawings and decking manufacturer requirements. Drawings generally indicate 2x8 joists at 12 inches on center and 2x6 framing/rail support members at spacing noted. Install continuous blocking beneath all railing posts and at all locations required by the railing manufacturer. Railing posts shall not rely only on decking boards for support. Install joist tape over the tops of joists and other locations recommended by the decking manufacturer before decking installation. Install composite decking in the Antique Leather color using the manufacturer-approved fasteners, face screws, and plugs. Maintain consistent board spacing, straight lines, clean cuts, and required end/edge gaps. Install fascia boards and trim with approved color-matched fasteners, maintaining clean joints and finished exposed edges. Install the Jam Systems Aluminum Advantage Rail system in Textured Bronze/Bronze, including all posts, brackets, rails, balusters, caps, connectors, and hardware. Rails shall be straight, level, rigid, and securely fastened to structural blocking/framing. Construct and finish all stairs, step-downs, landings, returns, and rail transitions shown on the drawings. Treads and risers shall be uniform and comply with applicable code requirements. Make neat field cuts and drillings. Treat all field-cut ends of pressure-treated lumber with an approved wood preservative when required by the lumber manufacturer or applicable standards. Coordinate any necessary minor framing adjustments with the City. No material substitution or material purchase charge may be made without prior written City authorization. Provide daily cleanup, remove labor-generated debris and packaging, and leave the site broom-clean and safe at the end of each workday
