Project Location : Jamaica, VT; Bridge No. 42 over the Winhall River along VT Route 30 at Mile Marker 9.746. Approximately 0.9 miles north of the junction with VT Route 100. Flooding Source: Winhall River Project Description: The project involves the removal of the existing temporary bridge and full replacement with a 121' long (117' clear span ), steel girder bridge with associated channel , roadway, and approach work. The original 2-span bridge ( 103 clear span ), was destroyed in the July 2023 flood event and the current temporary bridge was installed w/ road realignment approximately 50 upstream from the original . The current temporary bridge and road alignment will be restored to pre-flood condition. Type IV e-stone fill will be used for in -channel work including scour protection for the abutments/bank stabilization upstream and downstream . During construction, traffic will be maintained on the current temporary bridge and road alignment.
