Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Lacombe, Alberta. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The purpose of this project is to restore the Lacombe Skate Park's concrete riding surfaces to a smooth, safe, and durable condition suitable for skateboarding, BMX, and scooter use. The primary objectives to be achieved include: Completing coping reveal, full-depth flatwork, partial-depth, crack, back plate joint, and surface chip repairs. Applying a high-performance concrete surface densifier across all riding surfaces to prevent future moisture intrusion and dusting. Eliminating trip hazards, ridges, and depressions while ensuring seamless transitions across riding profiles. Extending the overall structural service life of the facility. Mobilization & Site Setup Transportation of personnel, equipment, and materials. Site setup, cleanup, protection of surrounding infrastructure, and complete disposal of construction debris. Coping Reveal Repairs o Remove loose/deteriorated concrete beneath coping. Saw cut and remove damaged concrete to a minimum depth of 30 mm (or deeper as required to reach sound concrete). Install approved high-strength repair mortar suitable for freeze/thaw environments to restore a consistent coping reveal of 10 mm +-3 mm, finished flush with adjacent riding surfaces. Full-Depth Flatwork Repairs (Remove and Replace) Saw cut repair perimeters, remove damaged concrete full depth, drill and epoxy-install reinforcing dowels into existing concrete. Place, finish, cure, and seal concrete to match existing slab strength, finish, profile, and riding characteristics. Seal construction joints using an approved polyurethane joint sealant. Partial-Depth Concrete Repairs & Surface Chip Repairs Remove unsound concrete and patch localized spalls and depressions using high-performance cementitious repair materials designed for exterior freeze/thaw exposure. Clean and repair surface chips (<40 mm diameter) with high-strength cementitious compounds finished smooth and flush. Coping Back Plate & Crack Sealing o Rout gaps between steel back plates and concrete (3 mm to 6 mm ) and cracks ( >=1 mm ) to 6 mm . Clean and seal using approved exterior polyurethane sealant flush with riding surfaces. Concrete Surface Densifier Application o Clean all skate park concrete surfaces and apply two (2) coats of high-performance penetrating concrete densifier according to manufacturer specifications to increase abrasion resistance, reduce dusting, and guard against freeze/thaw deterioration.
