The Charter Township of Ypsilanti is soliciting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the removal and replacement of the existing asphalt parking lot at the Community Network Center located at 1405 Holmes Road , Ypsilanti Michigan. The project generally consists of the removal and replacement of approximately 12,370 square feet of asphalt pavement, including excavation of the existing pavement, installation of a leveling course and wearing course, application of tack coat, compaction, restriping of the parking lot to match the existing layout, and all labor, materials, equipment, hauling, disposal, and incidental work necessary to complete the project. The successful bidder shall perform, at a minimum, the following: A. Pavement Removal Remove and excavate approximately 12,370 square feet of existing asphalt pavement to a depth of 4 inches. Haul and legally dispose of all removed pavement and debris off-site. B. Leveling Course - Install approximately 2.5 inches of 4E1 Commercial Leveling Asphalt. Compact asphalt using appropriate rolling equipment in accordance with MDOT specifications and industry standards. C. Tack Coat Apply a liquid asphalt bonding (tack) coat between asphalt lifts to promote proper adhesion. D. Wearing Course - Install approximately 1.5 inches of 5E1 Commercial Wearing Course Asphalt. Compact using appropriate rolling equipment to achieve proper density and finish. E. Pavement Markings Restripe the parking lot to match the existing parking layout upon completion of paving.
