The Town of Hempstead Department of Planning and Economic Development hereby requests proposals from New York State licensed Landscape Architects to prepare Landscape Architect's Reports as needed for our Affordable Homes Program and/or for any program under the jurisdiction of the department. The Department needs the professional services of a Landscape Architect on a continuing basis. The selection of the Landscape Architect will be based on the quality of the proposal, including, but not limited to: Knowledge of the Town of Hempstead Tree Preservation Law Experience (Town of Hempstead, Nassau County and elsewhere) Availability Price (per lot, contiguous (adjacent) lots, per report, etc.) Sample Landscape Architect Report (Documentation of previous Landscape Architect Reports) Estimated time for completion of Report. The selected firm(s) will receive a contract for (1) one year upon approval by the Town Board. The contract will include an option for the Town, in its sole discretion, to extend said contract for an additional year. The option shall not be deemed a renewal or extension, but part of the original contract. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and request further information from respondents, at the Town's sole discretion. All submissions will be the property of the Town and are subject to public disclosure to the extent of the New York State Freedom of Information Law (FOIL). We are asking to retain the professional services of a landscape architect whereby services requested would be itemized and billed as services are rendered. Failure to submit any one of the above could result in disqualification of proposal. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. Women and Minority firms are encouraged to participate. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. Requests for proposals for design services is underway.
