SCOPE OF WORK: a. This project consists of rehabilitation of parking areas at Midland Civic Arena (405 Fast Ice Drive and Currie Municipal Golf Course (1300 Currie Parkway). Work scope items include crack sealing, seal coating and pavement markings. Line striping will occur on areas where seal coating has taken place. i. Crack Sealing 1. The price for Crack Sealing shall include all labor, materials and equipment required for the application of hot pour crack sealant into all cracks 0.25" in width and wider as per the manufacturer's surface preparation and application recommendations. The sealant shall consist of a single component fiber modified product, hot applied with a wand system and shall be banded 2"-3" in width over the crack. Cold pour crack sealant will not be accepted. ii . Asphalt Emulsion Seal Coat 1. The price bid for Asphalt Emulsion Seal Coat shall include all labor, materials and equipment required for two applications of a sprayapplied asphalt emulsion seal coating, as per the manufacturer's surface preparation , mixing, application, application rate and curing recommendations. The Contractor shall submit a Technical Data Sheet for the proposed product, as well as a mix design which includes types and quantities of all additives including but not limited to water, sand and polymers. These submittals shall be included with the bid submittal for approval by the City Facilities Manager, prior to bid award. The Contractor shall protect adjacent structures, concrete and greenbelt against overspray. All cost related to cleanup/removal of overspray shall be borne by the Contractor and shall be considered incidental to the contract. iii . Pavement Markings 1. The price bid for Pavement Markings shall include all labor, materials and equipment to layout and install pavement markings as per the striping plans and standards for the City of Midland. All lines and symbols shall be applied with two applications of waterborne paint. iv. Traffic Control 1. The Contractor shall be responsible for finishing, installing, maintaining and removing all traffic control devices, which shall be in conformance with the requirements for construction signing in the current edition of the Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. No work shall commence until proper signing and barricading is in place and verified by City staff. All costs related to traffic control shall be considered incidental to the contract. v. Disposal of Materials 1. All materials including but not limited to soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt and expendable items shall be removed from the project site and disposed of immediately by the Contractor.
