Demolition, site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Brampton, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 75,000-square-foot, two-story above grade fitness / recreation center.
The objective of this RFP call is to invite Construction Managers to provide submissions to bid on the Construction of Howden Recreation Centre. The City expects that Construction Managers have the ability, experience, equipment and financial stability to enable them to perform and satisfactorily complete the work as outlined in the specifications. Redevelopment of the Howden Recreational Centre site is part of a larger strategic plan; the Bramalea Recreation Centre Renewal Strategy. The now demolished Howden Recreation Centre was an ageing facility set back far from Howden Boulevard. In addition, the facility will include a 30,000 sq ft Brampton Library as per the Council Resolution passed at Special Council Meeting held on January 13, 14, 16, and 20, 2025. The new facility will house a library and a Recreation Centre which will have both indoor and outdoor multi-sport courts, a fitness/studio space and a variety of multi-purpose rooms that will create vibrancy, increase programming activity, and allow for additional active living choices in the Bramalea area.
