Installation of line stops on 24-inch water transmission mains Questions Due to City: September 7, 2026, 12:00 p.m. Submit questions in writing via the Question/Answer Tab on the City's website by the specified deadline. Include the relevant section title for clarity. Responses will be posted on the website with sufficient time for bid preparation. The scope of work for this proposal is to provide a 24" line stop on an existing cast iron transmission water main under pressure. The line stop will be installed along the 10th Street railroad corridor between Griffiths and Ridgely Ave. The line stop contractor shall leave the line stop in place during dewatering and installation of a 24" butterfly valve by CWLP personnel . The installation of the 24" valve is anticipated to take 1-2 days. Upon completion of this work the line stop will be recovered by the contractor and the completion plug shall be installed. Contractor to submit detailed specifications for all materials, fitting installation requirements, equipment and field procedures as part of their proposal . Line stop sleeve shall be epoxy coated carbon steel with stainless steel hardware or approved equal. Any work to be completed by CWLP personnel will need to be specified in the proposal submittal. All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works Are Subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. Certified Female and Minority Business Enterprises Are Encouraged to Submit Proposals for This Project. The City Reserves the Right to Accept or Reject Any or All Proposals.
