The rehabilitation will include placing 159 vertical feet of epoxy coating and 159 vertical feet of calcium aluminate patching of existing manholes, rebuilding 11 manhole benches and troughs with fast-setting cementitious material, removing and replacing 1 manhole ring and lid, as detailed in the plans and specifications. In general, this project will consist of rehabilitating existing manholes throughout the City of Pueblo by placing calcium aluminate and epoxy coating. Specifically, the rehabilitation will include placing 159 vertical feet of epoxy coating and 159 vertical feet of calcium aluminate patching of existing manholes, rebuilding 11 manhole benches and troughs with fast-setting cementitious material, removing and replacing 1 manhole ring and lid, as detailed in the plans and specifications. No bid will be received unless accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, money order, bid bond or other suitable collateral, in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the Total Base Bid plus all Bid Alternates, payable to the City as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proposed Contract and bonds within ten (10) business days from the date of the award of the Contract. On failure of the successful bidder to execute the Contract and furnish bonds, they shall forfeit the deposit as agreed as liquidated damages, and the acceptance of the bid will be contingent upon the fulfillment of this requirement by the bidder. Payment and performance bonds are required to be filed prior to issuance of Notice to Proceed. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids for any or all items covered in the Invitation for Bid, to waive informalities or defects in bids, or to accept such bids as it shall deem to be in its best interest. Failure to complete the work by the allotted 45 calendar days shall result in the assessing of liquidated damages according to GENERAL PROVISIONS.
