his project consists of the removal of an existing Rite steam boiler and the furnishing and installation of one new Burnham Cast Iron Sectional steam boiler at Sequoia Elementary School, 3730 Lincoln Ave., Oakland, CA 94602. The work includes demolition of the existing boiler and associated piping, hazmat abatement as needed, rigging and installation of the new boiler, reconnection to existing steam, gas, and electrical services, adaptation of the existing flue system, and full commissioning to confirm proper operation of the new equipment.. Scope of Work: 1. Isolate and lock out existing Rite steam boiler from all energy sources. 2. Demolish and remove existing boiler and associated piping; dispose of properly. 3. Remove existing controls and return them to OUSD. 4. Rig old boiler out of boiler room and rig new boiler into boiler room. 5. Furnish and install one (1 ) new Burnham #V906A S Commercial Cast Iron Steam Boiler, 1,100,000 BTU, low-NOx gas burner, complete with CSD- 1 code water level controls, ASME-rated pressure relief valve, and pressure gauge; set and assemble per manufacturer requirements. 6. Reconnect new boiler to existing steam piping. 7. Replace existing shut-off valve with a new one. 8. Connect natural gas piping to the new boiler. 9. Route and connect safety valve discharge piping to a safe, code-compliant outlet within the boiler room. 10. Adapt existing flue system with necessary fittings and adapters to connect to the new boiler. 11. Electrically connect the new boiler to existing electrical service. 12. Tie new boiler into the existing EMS (Energy Management System). 13. Complete equipment commissioning and confirm proper operation. 14. Manage and execute hazardous material abatement during the demolition phase, ensuring all identified materials are handled, mitigated, and disposed of in strict compliance with environmental regulations, as needed. The Contract Time shall be thirty (30) calendar days, and liquidated damages for delay shall accrue and will be a $ 1,000.00 per day.
