This project will rehabilitate approximately 2,786 feet of existing 57- and 66-inch-diameter corroded reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) on the Joint Outfall H Unit 3 Trunk Sewer with a cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner and/or a spiral-wound PVC liner and 9 manholes with a protective coating system and all appurtenant work. The last day for submitting questions to the District will be close of business 5 working days prior to the bid opening date. Each bid shall be submitted electronically and must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond with an approved surety company as surety, payable to Los Angeles County Sanitation District No. 2 or other authorized security provided by Public Contract Code $ 20784, for an amount equal to at least ten percent of the amount bid as a guaranty that the bidder, if successful , will enter into a contract satisfactory to the Board of Directors for completing the work contemplated . The electronic bid shall include an electronic copy of the certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond, or the Bidder may provide a bid bond authorization code provided to them by Surety2000 , which the bidder shall keep in effect until the District gives notice that it may be released . Bonds issued by all other sureties are subject to approval by the Board of Directors and must be accompanied by all of the documents enumerated in California Code of Civil Procedure $ 995.660 ( a ) , as amended . At the time of bid, the Contractor shall possess a valid California Contractor's License in one of the following classifications : GENERAL ENGINEERING " A" , " C - 34 " , or " C - 42 "At the request and expense of the Contractor, securities equivalent to the amount withheld from progress payments may be deposited with the District or with a state or federally chartered bank as the escrow agent , who shall, during the performance of the work, hold such instruments in the name of the District, and return such securities to the Contractor upon satisfactory completion of the contract . *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. The District encourages participation in its construction contracting by all members of the community including Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Women Business Enterprises (WBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE), Disabled Veterans Business Enterprises (DVBE) and Small Business Enterprises (SBE). The District has established an aspirational goal of twenty (20) percent overall participation by such firms.
