Reconstruction of 200 feet of W Matthias Street, including LRIP project requirements. Bonds: Bid Bond required (unspecified amount). Eestimate value is $30,000 to $55,000. Scope of Project: o Prep Saw cut ends and remove and properly dispose of asphalt Remove and dispose of all material under road surface to a depth of at least 24 inches below the bottom of the proposed asphalt. The floor of this excavation shall have a slope of at least 2% from center towards sides. Contractor shall inform Village if unsuitable sub surface is identified . The Village may arrange for deeper excavation in this event in the form of a change order or other means. Install Geo Fabric overlapping all seams by at least 3 feet Install at least 21 inches of 1 1/4 " crushed blue rock Install at least 3" of 1/2 " crushed blue rock Grade and slope base to fully prepare for asphalt installation Plan for 2% or greater slope from street crown to street edge. o Ensure proper compaction of base is present O Ditching Install subgrade vents at the lowest point in the project. These vents shall be at least 3 feet wide and fully drain the water out of the base material into the ditches. See cross sections. Clean, restore and seed ditches along either side of the project and in all directions as needed to restore proper drainage to this section of street. Final product to completely shed water Final product to be smooth for mowing. Asphalt Installation O Install two layers for a total 3" or more of cold mix asphalt 22 ft wide by 200 ft long Final product to completely shed water with no puddling o Alternates The following alternates shall also be priced (either negative or positive numbers) in the proposal for consideration by the Village. Alternate #1 - If Village takes removed and busted asphalt material at Material Area (Contractor to bust it up into 12" square chunks or smaller) Alternate #2 - If Village takes removed asphalt material at Material Area (no busting)
