Renovation of a museum in Newport News, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum.
Work includes, but is not limited to, demolition and replacement of the existing 711 SF Fort Fun restroom building with a new one-story, approximately 868 SF Type V-B restroom facility, along with renovation of approximately 800 SF within the existing one-story, 1,714 SF Type II-B, non-sprinklered Huntington Beach Lifeguard Station. The Fort Fun work includes complete building demolition; new concrete foundations and slab-on-grade; wood framing, sheathing and roof trusses; insulation; cedar siding and trim; cast/manufactured stone; standing-seam metal roofing; doors, windows, interior partitions and finishes; toilet partitions and accessories; and complete plumbing, HVAC and electrical systems. Site work includes new water and sanitary service connections, concrete sidewalks, earthwork and associated restoration. The Lifeguard Station work includes selective demolition and reconstruction of the existing men's and women's restrooms, new toilet fixtures and partitions, counters and sinks, new doors and hardware, construction of a new staff restroom, wall and floor tile, metal-stud and cement-board partitions, plumbing, HVAC and electrical modifications, and repair and restoration of adjacent finishes affected by the renovation.
