Project has been Cancelled Architectural and engineering services for Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) shelter platforms. The purpose of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is two-fold, for the procurement of comprehensive architectural and engineering (A&E) professional services for development of Two (2) new proposed BRT Shelters/Platforms with the layout. Two (2) new Mobility Hubs at designated BJCTA locations Bonds: Bid Bond required (unspecified amount), Performance Bond required (unspecified amount), Payment Bond required (unspecified amount). Question Deadline 10/13/2026 at 3:00 PM CT All questions regarding this RFQ must be submitted in writing through the PlanetBids portal RFQ NO. 2026-04-REBID The Birmingham-Jefferson County Transit Authority (BJCTA) is issuing this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to qualified firms interested in providing Architectural & Engineering (A&E) Design Services for the development of two additional Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Platforms and two Mobility Hubs ( hereinafter referred to as the "Project"). The Project objectives include, but are not limited to, the following: Enhance multimodal connectivity and accessibility for transit riders, pedestrians, cyclists, staff, and the general public. Improve passenger amenities, safety, operational efficiency, and overall customer experience at BRT platform and mobility hub locations. Incorporate sustainable and energy-efficient design practices, durable materials, and environmentally responsible site development strategies where feasible. Ensure compliance with all applicable local , state, and federal requirements, including FTA procurement requirements, ADA accessibility standards, and life safety codes. Support BJCTA's long-term vision for safe, efficient, accessible, and community-oriented transit infrastructure. Maintain operational continuity of transit services and adjacent public roadways during construction through appropriate phasing, maintenance of traffic plans, and coordination strategies.
