The objective with this project is to separate the Laboratory and Sterile Processing Service (SPS) Deionization (DI) critical water loop and tie in the SPS DI water loop to the existing Reverse Osmosis (RO) critical water loop. This would put SPS entirely on the RO critical water loop, and the Laboratory would be on the DI critical water loop. Cutting and bypassing the two sinks in the lab that do not get used, will remove these two dead legs from the DI critical water loop. This project will also add an additional level of filtration by installing a new Ultraviolet (UV) sterilizer and multi-cartridge filtration system on the RO critical water loop as well as adding all the required testing ports to the RO system and the steam sterilizers as required by ST108 testing standards.
