Roof replacement for the detention center facility. Project Summary: Removal and replacement of existing roof system consisting of: 1. Existing Roof System Areas A, C, F and G : Ballasted EPDM membrane over 1" inch EPS insulation over, 1-1/2" EPS insulation over a final layer of 2" EPS insulation each loose laid over precast concrete plank. 2. Existing Roof System Areas B, D, and E : Ballasted EPDM membrane over 1 " EPS insulation over, 1-1 /2" inch EPS insulation over a final layer of 2" EPS insulation over 5/8" gypsum each loose laid over 1-1/2" metal decking. 3. New Roof System Areas A, C, F and G: Tear-off existing roof system down to deck level. Clean concrete plank surface to prime and install 1 -ply vapor barrier. Adhere 1/8"/ft tapered rigid insulation with isocyanurate insulation fillers and a top layer of 1/2" high density isocyanurate cover board in two-part foam adhesive. Fully adhered 90 mil reinforced EPDM membrane onto cover board. 4. New Roof System Areas B , D, and E: Tear-off existing roof system down to deck level. Mechanically attach 1/2" dens deck to steel deck. Install 1 - ply vapor barrier on to dens deck. Adhere 1/8/ft tapered rigid insulation with isocyanurate insulation fillers and a top layer of 1/2" high density isocyanurate cover board in two-part foam adhesive. Fully adhered 90 mil reinforced EPDM membrane onto cover board. Bid Alternate New Roof System Areas A, B, C, D , E, F and G : Tear off existing roof system down to deck level . At concrete planks, prime and mop with asphalt 2-ply felt vapor retarder. Mop in asphalt 1/8/ft tapered rigid insulation with isocyanurate insulation fillers and a 1 perlite cover board . Install a 4 - ply built up roof with gravel surfacing. At steel deck location, mechanically attach 1/2 " dens deck and mop 2-ply vapor barrier. Install remaining built up roof system as described above. 6. Provide new 24 ga . gi . color-coated metal counter flashings to match. 7. Install new 1/2 inch per foot crickets and saddles at all, units, etc. Perimeter details include but are not limited to: Parapets and walls. 9. Penetrations/details include but are not limited to roof drains, mechanical unit curbs, pipe supports, vent stacks, and heat stacks
