The Port of Los Angeles is advancing a parking and roadway expansion project within the LA Waterfront area in preparation for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The project includes development of a 17.5-acre parking area with up to 2,100 new parking spaces, a public restroom, pedestrian walkways, a trolley stop, and the reconfiguration and expansion of Harbor Boulevard to two travel lanes in each direction along an approximately half-mile stretch. General contractor Griffith Company was awarded the construction contract valued at $66.5 million, with work expected to begin in November and conclude by January 2028.
