Sam.gov Description Generator said: Sam.gov Description Generator Provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision required to remove and replace existing dock plates and perform associated concrete and structural work at Buildings 14 and 15. Work at Building 14 includes removal of the existing dock plate, saw cutting and removal of asphalt, curb removal, excavation for a new footing, construction of a retaining wall, installation of a new curb, placement of a sloped concrete drive to align truck access with the loading dock, extension of the existing handrail, and installation of new rubber dock bumpers. Work at Building 15 includes removal of the existing pit leveler and associated equipment, infilling the existing pit with gravel, saw cutting at the pit cantilever, placement of a new concrete slab pinned to the existing foundation, installation of a new pit leveler frame with concrete perimeter, and installation of a new hydraulic pit leveler and dock bumpers. All work shall comply with VA standards, applicable building codes, and OSHA safety requirements. The contractor shall coordinate work schedules with VA Engineering Service, provide advance notice for activities affecting operations, maintain a safe work environment, control dust, properly dispose of waste materials, and minimize disruption to medical center operations. Final acceptance will occur following inspection and successful demonstration of all installed components. The period of performance is 120 days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. TECHNICAL QUESTIONS: Offerors shall submit all technical questions regarding this solicitation to the Contracting Officer in writing on or before Thursday August 27, 2026 by 10:00AM EST via e-mail to chanel.johnson@va.gov. Telephonic (verbal) questions Will Not be addressed. Location: Salem VA Medical Center, 1970 Roanoke Blvd, Salem, VA 24153. Description of Work: Building 14- 1) Remove existing dock plate 2 ) Sawcut and remove approximately 14ft X 50ft of asphalt 3 ) Remove approximately 50ft of existing curb 4) Excavate for new footing at existing dock wall to extenddock area 5 ) Form and pour new 4ft x 1ft X 14ft retaining wall with 4X4 steel angle on edge 6 ) Form and pour new 6in X 18in X 50ft curb 7) Form and pour new concrete drive ( 14ft X 50ft X 6in) , sloped to allow trucks to back up level with dock 8 ) Extend existing handrail by 2ft 9) Install new 4in x 10in X 14in rubber dock bumpers Building 15- 1 ) Remove existing pit leveler and associated equipment 2) Infill existing pit with #357 gravel 3 ) Sawcut back of pit at cantilever 4) Pour new 4in concrete slab pinned to existing foundation 5 ) Install new 4in X 4in pit leveler frame and pour concrete perimeter 6) Install new 6ft X 8ft hydraulic pout leveler and 4in x 10in X 14in dock bumpers
