Site work and renovation of a sidewalk / parking lot in Houston, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a sidewalk / parking lot; and for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Reconstruction of 6-foot sidewalks, ADA-compliant wheelchair ramps, concrete leveling, tree protection with slip-resistant galvanized steel plates, sidewalk railroad crossing work, minor striping, coarse sand under sod, and adjustment of water meters and other minor utilities. Question Deadline 09/25/2026 at 2:00 PM CT Bonds: 10% Bid Bond, 100% Performance Bond, 100% Payment Bond. This proposal provides professional engineering services for sidewalk improvements on 72nd Street from Harrisburg to Canal, 73rd Street from Ave C to Ave F, 74th Street from Holtcamp to Canal , 75th Street from Mckinney to Canal , and Texas Street. The goal of the project is to enhance pedestrian facilities by improving connectivity and access to schools, churches, transit, and hike & bike trails. The project will upgrade ADA compliant sidewalks and ramps and enhance pedestrian visibility at intersections with crosswalks. Pavement markings at intersections will be re-striped due to the worn-out existing pavement markings. One Union Pacific Railroad sidewalk crossing exists at this location. Bidders shall make Good Faith Efforts to comply with the FTA Clauses and Certifications regarding MBE, WBE and SBE participation. The project generally consists of ADA-compliant 4 to 6-foot-wide sidewalks and ramps, concrete leveling, and tree protection. This work will include the following: A. Removal of existing sidewalks and ramps, driveways, curbs and gutters, and fences. B. Leveling approximately 2040 CY of concrete. C. Installation of 1 Type A inlet. D. Installation of 5 CY of 4- inch concrete rip rap E. Removal and resetting of pavers, as shown in the plans. Placement of coarse sand with woven geotextile, as shown in the plans. Construction of approximately 62178 SF of 4-1/2 inch reinforced concrete sidewalk, 4898 SF of City/ADA compliant wheelchair ramps with truncated domes, 32695 SF of 6-inch-High Early Strength driveways, 285 LF of concrete curb wall. H. Adjusting water meter/valve boxes to grade. Remove and replace water meter boxes with concrete boxes per City of Houston standards. Adjust water meter to proposed grade if necessary. Installation of landscaping, including sodding, irrigation system repair and adjustment, and remove and reset landscape borders per plans. K. Installation of bagged gravel barriers per plans. Traffic Control Plan per Texas MUTCD during all construction phases. 1. The Contractor shall provide and install traffic control devices in conformance with Part VI of the most recent edition of Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUTCD) and the approved traffic control plan. Lane closures shall be during off-peak hours only (Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.). Flaggers in radio contact are required to direct traffic during lane closures. Coordinate with the City of Houston and obtain approval/required permits prior to commencing work. Refer to Traffic Control Standard details for more information. Provide sequence of construction to CM prior to developing schedule for approval. Contractor shall notify all property owners a minimum of twenty-four (48) hours prior to blockage of driveways or entering of utility easements. The Contractor shall give written notifications to the neighboring residents of the anticipated work schedule, including the Contractor's name, contact person and twenty-four (24) hour phone number. Notice shall be given at least one (1 ) week prior to beginning the work at the site.
