The Lakeside County Water & Sewer District is upgrading its wastewater treatment system through a multi-phase expansion that includes a new septage receiving facility, wastewater-to-groundwater discharge infrastructure with three rapid infiltration basins, and construction of a new treatment plant. The project is intended to increase wastewater treatment capacity and accommodate growth in the Lakeside area. The facility has been designed with up to 900,000 gallons per day capacity, while the currently approved discharge permit covers 200,000 gallons per day.
