Site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Rockville, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a bridge / tunnel; and playground / park / athletic field.
In-kind replacement of one existing steel pedestrian bridge with a fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) bridge using existing concrete bridge abutments. Question Deadline 08/25/2026 at 2:00 PM ET Questions pertaining to this bid may be directed to TJ Ellison, Principal Buyer, via the City's Collaboration Portal only This project consists of supplying all the labor, equipment, tools, disposal and materials for the inkind replacement of one (1 ) existing steel pedestrian bridge (PB-068) located in Horizon Hill Park of the City of Rockville Park system. The bridge is to be replaced with a fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) bridge using the existing concrete bridge abutments. A structural evaluation performed by Keystone Engineering on April 22, 2024, determined the existing abutments are adequate to remain in use for the replacement bridge. The project also consists of the replacement of the four (4) existing wood-post wingwalls with gabion baskets , rough grading to install the gabion baskets and permanent turf establishment of disturbed areas at the end of the project. At the conclusion of the project, the contractor will provide as-builts drawings of the bridge and wingwalls. All existing asphalt pathways and concrete sidewalks are to be protected and remain in place, any damage will be the responsibility of the contractor to repair PE OF WORK As Identified on Approved Plan but not limited to the following 1. Purchase new fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) bridge 2. Provide temporary work zone controls for vehicle and pedestrian traffic and safety 3.Provide sediment erosion control and tree protection measures 4. Protect structures and grounds 5.Mobilize 6. Clear and grub, as necessary (no trees are to be removed) 7.Demolish and dispose of existing bridge 8. Demolish and dispose of existing wood-post wingwalls 9. Install gabion basket wingwalls Install FRP bridge Permanent turf establishment of disturbed areas Provide as-builts (record drawings) Daily clean-up of work area
