The completed roof system shall provide a durable, weathertight assembly meeting applicable building codes and manufacturer requirements. A. Pre-Construction Requirements Verify field dimensions and existing roof conditions prior to commencement of work. Coordinate construction activities with the Town of Scriba to minimize disruption to facility operations. Implement all required safety measures, fall protection systems, and site protection. Obtain any permits and inspections required by local authorities. B. Removal and Disposal Remove and legally dispose of the existing metal roofing system, flashings, fasteners, closures, and associated roofing components. Remove damaged or deteriorated underlayment identified during demolition. Protect building interiors from water infiltration during all phases of construction. Remove all construction debris from the site daily. C. Roof Deck Evaluation and Repairs Inspect the roof deck and supporting components after removal of existing roofing materials. Replace damaged, deteriorated, or water-compromised roof decking as directed by the Owner. Report any structural deficiencies discovered during demolition before proceeding with repairs beyond the scope of work. New Metal Roofing System Installation .Install high-temperature synthetic underlayment across the entire roof surface. Install self-adhering ice and water shield at eaves, valleys, penetrations, transitions, and other critical locations. Furnish and install a new commercial-grade standing seam metal roofing system (minimum 24-gauge galvanized steel or approved equal). Install concealed fastening systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications. Install all required trim, ridge caps, rake trims, eave trims, closures, fasteners, and sealants. Install new flashing at: Mechanical equipment curbs Roof penetrations Vent stacks Roof-to-wall transitions Valleys and ridges Ensure all roof penetrations and transitions are completely weatherproof Roof Drainage and Accessories Remove and reinstall or replace gutters, downspouts, snow guards, and roof accessories where required. Verify proper roof drainage upon completion. Ensure all drainage components are securely attached and fully operational. Cleanup Maintain a clean and safe work site throughout the project. Remove all debris, scrap metal, packaging materials, and equipment upon completion. Perform magnetic nail sweep and final site cleanup. Restore disturbed areas to pre-construction condition.
