Central Florida Expressway Authority requires Design-Build services for SR 429 Binion Road Interchange. The services will include final design, preparation of construction drawings / specifications for, and construction of the proposed SR 429 Binion Road Interchange. Specifically, the project will consist of designing and constructing a new interchange along SR 429 with ramps to and from the north at the relocated intersection of Binion Road and Boy Scout Rd. In addition, existing Boy Scout Road is to be realigned to the south and a new roundabout intersection designed and constructed at Binion Road. The new ramps will be tolled with ramp AET tolling gantries. The project will include utility design and utility work by highway contractor as necessary to relocate the City of Apopka's utilities in conflict with the proposed design. Additional elements include surveying, drainage evaluation, design and construction of lighting, signing and pavement markings, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) (i.e., fiber optic network), tolling, and maintenance of traffic (MOT), utility coordination, geotechnical analysis, scheduling and project control, progress reporting and other tasks and associated activities. Close coordination with City of Apopka, Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), and the adjacent neighborhood HOAs will be required.
