Description: The Central Valley Heavy Maintenance Facility Project is a proposed California High-Speed Rail maintenance complex that will support Phase 1 operations between San Francisco and Los Angeles/Anaheim. The project includes train servicing and stabling facilities, heavy and light maintenance shops, wheel reprofiling facilities, component shop campuses, offices, support buildings, parking, access roads, substations, renewable energy infrastructure, stormwater facilities, and related operational infrastructure. The California High-Speed Rail Authority has initiated preparation of a project-level Environmental Impact Report evaluating the proposed Fresno site and an alternative Hanford site. Based on the scale of a full-system high-speed rail maintenance facility, component manufacturing campus, rail yard infrastructure, and supporting utilities, the estimated project value is $1,500,000,000.
