Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Ionia, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The City of lonia is seeking sealed bids from qualified contractors for the City of Ionia Tree Planting Project as specified on the enclosed bid sheet list. The project will involve a contractor supplying and planting deciduous trees throughout City of Ionia neighborhoods, as specified by the City. Exact locations will be provided at the time of planting. Any questions regarding these work specifications shall be directed to Geoff Peterson, Director of Public Works, at (616) 523-0170. All balled-and-burlap deciduous trees shall measure between 2.5 inches and 3 inches in caliper at the time of planting. _ Trees shall be single-trunked, with permanent branching beginning no lower than three (3) feet above the root flare. All trees shall be hardy to USDA Zone 6a, as defined in the 2023 United States Department of Agriculture Plant Hardiness Zone Map. Trees shall be free of thorns. Genotypes shall be consistent with those naturally occurring in Michigan's Lower Peninsula. Documentation of origin shall be furnished upon request. All trees delivered shall be in good health, free of damage, disease, or desiccation. The City reserves the right to reject any stock deemed unacceptable. The City further reserves the right to reject tree species or stock for any additional reason determined to be in the City's best interest. The Contractor shall warranty and, if necessary, replace, at no additional cost to the City, any tree that fails within one ( 1) year of planting. Replacement costs shall be included in the bid price. The Contractor shall remove all soil , mud, straw, and debris from sidewalks, parking areas, and roadways at the conclusion of each workday. Any areas disturbed or damaged during planting or replanting operations shall be fully restored by the Contractor to original and/or specified conditions within thirty (30) days of completion of planting. _ The Contractor is responsible for contacting MISS Dig prior to commencing planting operations. The City will provide the Contractor with a list of planting addresses and the species of tree requested by address prior to the commencement of work.
