Work generally includes construction of non-conditioned dry material storage building on the previously completed Phase I concrete foundation and floor slab. Scope includes CMU veneer walls and piers; masonry reinforcement, dowels, sealant, caps, and water-repellent treatment; roof trusses, wood framing, fascia, cedar soffits, and standing-seam metal roofing; gutters and downspouts; insulated steel overhead doors; insulated hollow-metal personnel door and frame with hardware; steel bollards; structural steel at the required opening; and all related accessories and work required for a complete installation. The Phase I footings and slab are existing and are not included in the base-bid construction scope except as necessary for connections to the existing work. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check, bid bond by a surety company registered to do business in the State of Iowa, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the total bid price and made payable to the City of Council Bluffs. A copy of the certified check, bid bond, or share draft is to be uploaded in the assigned requested attachments area. If a company who has a check is awarded the bid, the City will request the physical check at that time. The certified check or share draft will be returned to the successful bidder once the agreement has been executed. Letters of credit and company or personal checks are not acceptable substitutes for a bid bond and will be cause for rejection of bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds in the amount of one-hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price, a certificate of insurance and a certificate of equal employment opportunity and comply with minimum wage provisions as established by the U.S. Department of Labor.
