Renovation of a theater / auditorium in Asheville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a theater / auditorium.

Repairs to plaster and paint in the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium caused by water damage from roof and HVAC leaks. The Harrah's Cherokee Center Asheville (HCCA) is a multi-venue building owned and operated by the City of Asheville. The HCCA contains the ExploreAsheville.com Arena, the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium (TWA), 9 meeting rooms, an exhibition hall, and a banquet hall. The TWA interior plaster and paint has sustained water damage numerous times over recent years due to HVAC equipment and roof leaks. Staff aims to repair these areas to best provide a warm and welcoming environment to artists and fans during our events. Please submit a bid for the work described and timeline of plaster and paint repairs in the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium as specified in detail below. If there are concerns related to potential delays due to manufacturing or supply chain issues, please advise. Please provide two commercial project references The City intends to award the base bid, and if applicable Add-Alternets #1 , #2 or both dependent on bid proposals and available budget for the project Repair all the loose or dry, powder plaster on the walls, columns and ceiling to a secure scratch coat or to the original lath and repair as needed Remove all loose or deteriorated plaster, apply a bonding agent, scratch coat and a finish coat. Repair the damaged decorative plaster in the main lobby and paint to original colors If necessary make a mold of the undamaged decorative plaster to repair the damaged decorative plaster for the lobby and columns to duplicate the original decorative plaster Sand and prep all areas as needed to make ready to prime and paint Paint all walls, ceiling, trim and base boards throughout the seating area of the auditorium to match current colors Provide all materials, a means to protect the flooring and seating area from dust, plaster, paint and any other debris that could damage or stain the seats and carpet while making repairs and painting during the project Example photos follow, photos do not represent the entirety of patch/paint locations.
