Preparation and installation of approximately 6,000 square feet of artificial turf. PROJECT SCOPE OF WORK The successful contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, transportation, disposal, permits, insurance, and other services necessary to complete the project. A. DEMOLITION AND REMOVAL The contractor shall: 1. Inspect and verify existing site conditions and field measurements. 2. Remove the existing playground surface/platform and associated materials as required for installation of the new turf system. 3. Remove existing rubberized material, anchors, fasteners, damaged materials, concrete or other obstructions as necessary. 4. Remove and legally dispose of all demolition debris and waste generated by the work. 5. Protect surrounding buildings, sidewalks, fencing, utilities, landscaping, pavement, and other APHA property during construction. 6. Maintain a safe and secured work area throughout demolition and construction. BASE SURFACE PREPARATION AND MINOR REPAIRS The contractors Base Bid shall include ordinary and reasonably anticipated preparation of the existing surface following demolition. This shall include: 1. Cleaning and preparation of the exposed surface. 2. Removal of loose or unsuitable material. 3. Filling minor cracks, holes and depressions. 4. Minor leveling and correction of surface irregularities. 5. Preparation necessary to create a stable and uniform surface. 6. Minor grading necessary for proper installation. 7. Installation of standard base material or underlayment required by the proposed turf system. 8.
