Modernization of two existing elevators, including hoist way equipment, cars, entrances, controls, wiring, and machine room equipment. Create two new elevator machine rooms in the penthouses and replace major mechanical components. The Cecil County Maryland's Finance Department and Procurement Division is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) to establish a term contract with a Contractor(s) to perform Cecil County Courthouse Elevator Renovation. The County reserves the right to award to multiple vendors at its own discretion and what is considered the County's best value by the Procurement Manager which will be considered final. The project work includes the modernization of the (2) existing elevators located in the 1938 wing and the 1965 wing (the elevator added in 2014 is not part of this scope) and includes the hoistway equipment, cars, entrances, controls, wiring, and machine room equipment. The project will create (2) new rated elevator machine rooms in the penthouse above elevator hoistways. In addition to the Sally Port elevator, one elevator must be kept in service at all times during construction. - Bringing materials on-site and up to the penthouse is the contractor's responsibility and may require off-hour deliveries. Coordination with the County for off-hour deliveries is required at least two weeks in advance. - Interruptions to pedestrian traffic in the parking lot and inside the building need to be minimized. - Signage for the Courthouse to direct people to the available elevator during construction to be provided by the contractor. Coordination for elevator shutdowns to be coordinate with Cecil County at least two weeks in advance. - Any wiring (including low voltage) and running of IT cabling is the contractor's responsibility. Coordination with the County will be required.
