Pre-qualification of contractors for gas meter replacement work associated with the PHMSA Natural Gas Distribution System Replacement Project, including verification of experience, safety records, and technical qualifications. Bonds: 100% Performance Bond, 100% Payment Bond. The city has identified approximately 7.87 miles (41,500 LF) of existing natural gas mains requiring replacement due to age, corrosion concerns, leakage potential , maintenance requirements, and long-term system reliability concerns. The Project is located within the City of Fulton, Kentucky and encompasses the City's historic core service area. The project area includes: Residential neighborhoods Commercial businesses Public housing facilities o Churches o Municipal facilities o Public rights-of-way o Railroad crossings o Highway crossings 2.3 PROJECT OBJECTIVES Project objectives include: Replacement of aging cast iron and steel gas mains. o Reduction of methane emissions. o Reduction of leakage potential. Improvement of public safety. Improvement of system reliability. o Reduction of future maintenance costs.
