Demolition, site work and new construction of a sidewalk / parking lot in Cooperstown, New York. Completed plans call for the demolition of a sidewalk / parking lot; and for the construction of a sidewalk / parking lot.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION Removal and replacement of approximately 2,300 linear feet of existing sidewalk and construction of new poured-in-place concrete sidewalks. LOCATION North and south sides of Susquehanna Avenue from Beaver Street to Elm Street. REMOVAL The Contractor shall remove and properly dispose of all existing asphalt, concretesidewalks, underlying gravel base, and all excavated materials necessary to construct the new sidewalks. The Village will not provide a disposal location. The Contractor shall remove only those areas necessary to complete the work and shall protect all adjacent pavement, curbing, utilities, landscaping, and private property from damage. Any damage caused by the Contractor shall be repaired or replaced at no additional cost to the Village. NEW CONCRETE SIDEWALKS Foundation material (NYSDOT Item 4 or approved equivalent) shall be placed on the prepared subgrade and compacted to a minimum thickness of five (5) inches. Sidewalks shall be constructed continuously across existing driveways. Finished elevations shall provide a smooth transition for vehicle access while maintaining ADAcompliant sidewalk grades and cross slopes. Construct new ADA-compliant curb ramps, including concrete curb returns/tapers and cast iron detectable warning surfaces at all required locations.
