Scope of Work: Base Bid - Single Ply Membrane Roofing System . (Heat-welded seams) 1 Roof Replacement Areas: Shepherd University Refer to roof plan drawing for roof area locations. The building will be occupied by staff during the roof replacement. Contractor shall supply all labor, transportation, material , apparatus, tools, and permits necessary for removal and replacement of the existing roof systems All roofing applications shall be in accordance with specifications and details. Contractor shall verify roof construction and square footage and location of roof mounted equipment. Provide manufacturer's product data and material safety data sheets for all materials used including masonry re-pointing and metal work. All data sheets shall show the same product name as it appears on the materials that are installed. No materials shall be provided to job site containing asbestos. The roofing contractor is responsible for ensuring all roof drains included in the specified roof replacement work are free flowing. Flush drains to verify free flowing prior to the project start and at the project completion. The contractor shall notify Owner if any roof drains are found slow flowing or inoperative prior to the project start. If drains are clogged upon completion of work contractor shall resolve clog at no cost to the Owner. Contractor shall verify all vent pipes being flashed are in working order. Extend 8" minimum above roof surface . Contractor shall notify SU if any vents are clogged. If vents are clogged at project completion the contractor shall resolve at no cost to the Owner. Complete removal and disposal of existing roofing system including but not limited to membrane, flashings, metal flashings, roof drains, insulation, wood blocking and accessories down to the underlying roof decking whether concrete or metal. Prepare the roof substrate prior to installing the new roof system. a. b. Replace or repair existing defective decking on an additional per square foot cost by allowance above the quantity noted to be included for base biRemove and dispose of obsolete rooftop curbs, pitch pockets and miscellaneous penetrations. Caution shall be exercised for attachment of new materials and removal of existing items from deck surface. Install new roof decking or metal plating over opening. 1) 2) 3) 4) C. d. e. Install 1/8 inch steel plate over openings less than 2 by 2 ft and 1/4 inch steel plate over openings larger than 2 by 2 ft up to 4 by 4 ft larger openings per Section 05 50 00. Lap plate over decking minimum 6-inches on all sides. Mechanically attach plating to decking a minimum of 12- inches o.c. Owner shall identify items to be removed (See paragraph 1.3.A.2). Install pressure treated wood blocking as required to match new insulation heights at wall junctions, roof edges, and penetrations and as indicated on detail drawings. Raise existing roof curbs and plumbing vent stacks to minimum 8-inches above the new roof surface. Replace all existing roof drain bowl assemblies.
