Perform thirty-five (35) sanitary sewer mainline point repairs, five (5) sanitary sewer mainline pipe-burst replacements at seventeen (17) locations and two (2) sewer mainline extensions within the unincorporated eastern foothills of Santa Clara County. Work includes removal and replacement of existing 6-inch vitrified clay pipe (VCP) with three hundred and twenty-six linear feet (326') of 6-inch polyvinyl chloride (PVC) SDR26 pipe. Perform pipe bursting of existing 6-inch VCP/cast Iron (CI) with one thousand and eighty linear feet (1080') of 6-inch high-density polyethylene (HDPE) Pipe. Remove and replace one hundred and fourteen linear feet (114') of existing 8-inch VCP with 8-inch PVC SDR26, and forty-three linear feet (43') of 10-inch VCP with 10-inch PVC SDR26. Remove and replace service connection fittings, including twenty-seven (27) 4"x6" wyes, two (2) 4"X8" wyes, and two (2) 4"x10" wyes. The sewer mainline extensions will be located on Chula Vista drive south of Yona Vista Avenue. The first extension will consist of approximately 256 linear feet of 6-in PVC SDR26 pipe, 3 new 48-inch diameter precast concrete sanitary sewer manholes, and approximately 19-feet of 4-inch PVC SDR26 for a sanitary sewer service lateral. The second extension at 11406 Chula Vista Court will consist of approximately 102 linear feet of 6-in PVC SDR26 pipe, 3 new 48-inch diameter precast concrete sanitary sewer manholes, 1 new flushing inlet, and approximately 28-feet of 4-inch PVC SDR26 for a sanitary sewer service lateral. Bids must be specifically addressed as stated above or risk being misdelivered. The District requires the Project to be completed in sixty-five (65) working days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP). Liquidated damages of five hundred dollars ($500) per day will be assessed for each calendar day not finished or completed, before or upon the expiration of the time limit set forth in these Plans and Specifications.
