Polk County Schools is soliciting competitive bids from qualified flooring contractors and concrete coating contractors for the preparation and refinishing of the existing concrete floor in the auditorium at Benton Elementary School , 216 School House Hill , Benton, TN 37307 The existing auditorium floor is raw concrete and contains divots, surface imperfections, and approximately 1,500 existing anchor bolts/anchors associated with the previous auditorium seating installation. The intent of this project is to prepare the existing concrete surface and install a durable decorative concrete coating system with a flake finish similar in appearance to the existing finished floor in the auditorium lobby. The project also includes approximately 4,700 square feet of finished floor coating, 260 linear feet of rubber baseboard, and 60 linear feet of shoe mold near the stage. The successful contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, preparation, surface repairs, coating materials, installation, cleanup, and incidental work necessary to provide a complete finished flooring system. The desired finished appearance is a decorative flake coating system similar to the existing flooring in the auditorium lobby. Contractors shall inspect the lobby flooring as a visual reference for the desired general appearance, texture, color, and flake finish. The finished floor shall consist of a professional-grade concrete coating system suitable for a school auditorium and high-traffic environment. The proposed system shall include, as appropriate, concrete preparation, primer/base coat, decorative flake broadcast, removal of excess flakes, and a protective clear topcoat. The contractor shall identify the exact coating system proposed, including manufacturer, product name, product type, base coat, decorative flake, topcoat, coverage rates, number of coats, cure time, maintenance, warranty, and expected service life.
