Site work and renovation of a road / highway in Camden, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a road / highway.

The intent of this Request for Proposals and resulting contract is to obtain Professional Civil Engineering Design Services for a road improvement project. The goal of the project currently is: Removal of concrete roadway and replacement with HMA Installation of streetscape improvements along the length of the project where none currently exists. This includes replacement of curb and sidewalks with paver block streetscape design, street trees and decorative unmetered lighting. Replacement of the following traffic signals: Clinton and Broadway Royden and Broadway Line and Broadway Pine and Broadway Spruce and Broadway Chestnut and Broadway The County does not have any recent roadway cores for this roadway section. The Consultant shall include a cost for the extraction and analysis of 5 cores to verify the thickness of the existing concrete roadway. A sample of the subgrade soils should be taken at each core location for geotechnical analysis. Storm water management design, storm pipe design, and installation. Sanitary sewer system design and installation. Combined sewer system design and maintenance within Camden City. Concrete curb, monolithic curb and gutter, driveway apron, and sidewalk installation at ADA compliant handicap ramp locations. Bituminous asphalt design and roadway grading. oTraffic signal design. oRoadway line striping and signage in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (current edition) Wetlands delineation and working within wetlands buffers (if applicable). Technically infeasible forms for non-compliant curb ramps (if applicable). o Traffic control design and/or detour plans (if applicable) and municipal approvals. o And any additional qualifications required for the services described herein. Removal and replacement of the storm sewer system will be dependent upon existing conditions. The consultant shall include the inspection, evaluation, and asbuilt of the existing storm sewer system in their proposal . All ACCESSIBLE storm pipes shall be properly labeled and quantified on the base plans with corresponding accurate diameters and type (i.e.: RCP/DIP/CMP/CAP/CMP/TCP/VCP). All existing inlets and manholes must be opened and inspected by the consultant during field survey. All inlets must be properly labeled and numbered on the base plans (i.e. Type A # 1 , B #2, E ) and all existing grate and invert elevations must be shown. It is the sole responsibility of the consultant to investigate the storm sewer system conditions within the project limits and provide recommendations regarding repairs, replacements, or upgrades. If required, the video-inspection of the existing storm sewer system shall be performed by Camden County Department of Public Works and provided to the selected consultant. As-built information for the combined sewer mainlines will be provided by American Water Contract Services. The consultant's effort shall be limited to storm sewer inlet inspections and piping connections from the inlets to the mainline. The consultant shall coordinate the cleaning of inlets within the corridor by the CCDPW prior to surveying and inspection.
