In support of those efforts, GDOT intends to replace an existing office currently located in Chamblee with a new Administration Office to serve its District7 region . The new building will be constructed adjacent to their existing Traffic Management Center located at 935 East United Avenue, Atlanta, Georgia 30316. The preliminary Stated Cost Limitation (SCL) or construction cost of the Project is estimated at $22,000,000. The final SCL may be revised by the Owner due to final programmatic requirements, funding availability or other circumstances. To assist with early planning for the project, GDOT engaged the architectural firm Wiley Wilson to develop a preliminary concept of possible program spaces. While the concept resulted in a multi-story building comprising roughly 78,000 square feet of space for staff offices, conference rooms, training assembly spaces, breakrooms, storage and other support spaces, the Owner recognizes the new building's design and size will be influenced by what the construction budget can support. The design professional selection was recently completed, and we are working to finalize the contract with the selected firm . The final program and space needs will be determined during the programming effort with the selected design professional. During the preconstruction process, the CM/GC will be instrumental in assisting the team determine what can be constructed with the available funding.
