Description

Site work and renovation of a pipeline in Henderson, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a pipeline.

The contractor shall install new 1-inch PE natural gas service lines. The new service line shall be installed using the following methods in order of preference: 1. Insert the new 1-inch PE line into the existing 1 1/4-inch steel service line being retired and replaced. 2. Utilize a walk-behind trencher to install the new service line. 3. Horizontally directionally drill (HDD) the new service line. A comprehensive sewer locate shall be completed for the property prior to drilling at an additional cost to HMG. HDD shall only be used when the first two installation methods are not possible. 4. Install the new service line by excavation using an excavator bucket no larger than 12 inches. This method shall only be used with prior HMG approval and when the other installation methods are not possible. Careful restoration shall be performed following excavation.
