VDOT - A57 - Sidewalk Construction - Route 6 P101 , R201 The project area is on the south side of Patterson Avenue behind an existing curb and gutter section and through three side streets. Locally, Patterson Avenue is a 4- lane divided primary route and the road elevation decreases as you head west. The residential section was developed in the 1950's and contains mature trees. Where the sidewalk is planned, the ground is partially vegetated, and a foot path exists in some areas This project is part of a larger goal to add pedestrian sidewalk and safety crossings to the south side of Patterson Avenue in Henrico County. This project will tie into the existing curb ramp provided as part of UPC 120623 near the intersection of Patterson Avenue and Horsepen Road. Moving west, the sidewalk will cross Borden Road, Westham Parkway, and Sweetbriar Road before terminating after the curb ramp on the west side of Sweetbriar Road. To facilitate crossing each of the intersections, a functional mill and overlay is planned as part of the project scope.
