Question Deadline 09/18/2026 at 3:00 PM CT Background - The City of Cedar Rapids is seeking bids from qualified Contractors for boiler system replacement at the Water Treatment Plant located at 761 J Avenue NE, Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52402. Scope of Work This project shall consist of removal of the existing Weil-McLain Co., Inc. boiler system, and replacement with a new, equivalent boiler system, fully installed and operational, at the J Avenue Water Treatment Plant. A photo of the nameplate on the existing boiler is provided in Attachments. Replacement shall include a new boiler, associated steam and return lines as needed, expansion tank(s), filters, separators, zone pumps, radiant fin heaters, electric forced air radiant heaters, and any other associated parts and materials deemed necessary for a complete and reliable rehab of the existing system. Contractor shall be aware that the facilities will be in operation during the repairs and shall take all necessary safety precautions to protect people and property. All work shall be in accordance with Iowa Statewide Urban Design and Specifications (SUDAS), current version. SUDAS documents may be found online at https://iowasudas.org. If there is a discrepancy between SUDAS and the City's Bid Documents, the City's Bid Documents take precedence. Removal and replacement of the back ops boiler system at the Water Treatment Plant.
