Project Scope: Heavy Cleaning, CCTV Inspection and Assessment of 1,750 LF of 24" Sanitary Sewer Main in a City of Tuscaloosa easement through the Nucor Steel campus in Tuscaloosa, AL. Generally, the pipeline cleaning is to between City of Tuscaloosa Manhole No. 9116 (downstream)_and City of Tuscaloosa Manhole No. 957 (upstream). City has coordinated with Nucor. Bypass needs to be buried 4 ft and backfilled with stone across the loading dock ramp. Haunches need to be well compacted. This is approximately 100 LF. Nucor will move scrap piles as needed to accommodate bypass route. o Nucor will acquire internal dig permits. o Average Flow on 24" Line: 1.6 MGD (1,111 GPM / Peak Flow on 24" Line: 2.4 MGD (1,667 GPM ) Design Vehicle for loading of Temporary Bypass piping is 110 tons . This is a Caterpillar 773E Off-Highway Truck filled to Payload Capacity. o Pipe Cleaning Spec. Typical Jet Cleaning methods may not be effective. Contractor needs to be prepared to utilize Mechanically Powered Equipment.
