The installation honors the lineage of the United States Air Force Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT/SUPT) through three primary physical components: A. Stepped Stainless-Steel Support Columns: Round architectural poles engineered in ascending vertical heights (3.00 ft, to 6.00 ft) representing the progression of flight training. C. Memorial Centerpiece & Bronze Plaque: A dimensional 47-inch standard United States Air Force Pilot Wing badge and an engraved bronze dedication plaque mounted to a couple of round architectural poles. 2. Canopy and Surface Treatment: Cockpit canopies shall be highlighted with a hand-burnished, slightly lighter patina to contrast against the satin fuselage and wings. Control surfaces (rudder, flaps and ailerons) shall feature recessed scribe lines at 0.0625 in depth. Propeller Detail (T-6A): Cast with a stationary stylized four blade feathered propeller or a solid rotation simulation disc. 3. Dissimilar Metal Isolation: Because bronze (copper alloy) and stainless steel have different galvanic potentials, direct metal-to-metal contact will cause galvanic corrosion, all interfaces shall incorporate: _ Non-Conductive, high compressive-strength dielectric neoprene or Delrin/PTFE isolation sleeves and washers at all mounting joints. _ Marine-grade anti-seize compound compatible with stainless steel hardware. B. Top Joint Connection: The pole top shall terminate in a fully welded, capped internal receiver socket. A high-tensile 316 stainless-steel internal spud (1.50 in diameter) welded into the aircraft center-of-gravity (CG) belly plate slips into the pole receiver and secures with dual concealed, temper-proof set screws C. Base Mounting: Each pole shall feature a 0.75-inch thick, 10-inch square or circular 316 stainless base plate with four 0.75-inch anchor bolt hole, secured to the sub-grade concrete footing and concealed by a brushed stainless-steel escutcheon shroud. 4. Centerpiece: 47-Inch Standard U.S. Air Force Pilot Wing Dimensions: 47-inch tip-to-tip wingspan. Approximately 14.50 inches center height, 2.50 inch high-relief projection. Insignia Details: Authentic representation of a USAF pilot rating badge. Featuring the central shield with concentric ring stripes surmounted by federal wings with layered feather textures. Square Bronze Memorial Plaque Wording on the Plaque: (from top to bottom) T-6A T-1 T-38C T-37 T-33 Dimensions: 24 inches x 24 inches square, 0.375 in minimum plate thickness with integral 0.75 in perimeter return bevel. Typography & Style: Raised Roman bold lettering with flat face and hand-rubbed satin bronze highlight against an organic leatherette or stippled or stippled dark brown/black oxide background. Mounting: Four blind-mount threaded studs (0.375-inch diameter) tapped into the reverse side of the plaque.
