The purpose of this bid is to establish an open end contract for the installation of three ( 3) rail split rail fence within Somerset County, and rights of way. Service shall be at the request of representatives of the County of Somerset, and/or members of the Somerset County Cooperative Pricing System on an as-needed basis. The contract shall have two parts. Option A: Includes installation and Option B: Supplies only. Vendors may bid on one or both options. The contract shall be awarded by line item and have a primary and secondary vendor. GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS The services included under this contract shall include the installation of three (3) rail split rail fence including labor and materials and the installation of galvanized gates on an as-need basis. 2.2 The rails shall be 11' long. 2.3 The rails shall be composed of pine and be pressure treated. 2.4 The posts shall accommodate three (3) rails and be composed of mixed hardwood . 2.5 The posts shall be set in packed dirt at approximately 24" deep. 2.6 The gates shall be available in 12', 16', 18', 20', 21', 22' and 24' lengths. 2.7 The gates shall be constructed of 2" diameter galvanized pipe. The hinge post shall be either schedule 40 with a 6 5 " diameter or 8'x8' pressure treated wood post as per the County's instructions. The latch post shall be SS20 with a 3" diameter. 2.10 The gate posts shall be set in a concrete approximately 36" deep. 2.11 The gate shall have two (2) galvanized hinges with a 180 opening capability. 2.12 The latch for the gate shall be a galvanized fork latch. 2.13 The gate shall be 4 ' high on the hinge side and 2' high on the latch side. 2.14 The gate shall have vertical struts between the hinge side and the latch side for strength. 2.15 The struts shall be 2" galvanized pipe. 2.16 The joints for the gate shall be notched and/or hammered and of the welded type
