Site work, paving and new construction of a transportation facility in Holland, Michigan. Completed plans call for the construction of a transportation facility.

Installation of a new concrete slab to serve as a vehicle parking pad, including removal and disposal of existing grass/turf, site grading and drainage tie-in to the adjacent existing parking lot, base preparation, and placement of a reinforced concrete slab. Scope of Work Compliance o Contractor responsible for all required permits o All work performed shall meet building code per Holland Charter Township Building Department Site Preparation & Disposal o Remove and dispose of existing grass, sod, and topsoil within the 1,400 sq ft slab footprint, plus the additional perimeter area needed for grading and forming. o Excavate to the subgrade depth required for the base and slab design specified by the contractor's engineer/standard practice. o Haul away and dispose of all removed vegetation, topsoil , and excess spoil off-site. Include all dump fees in the quoted price. Contractor is responsible for locating underground utilities (call 811 / MISS dig / local utility locate service) prior to excavation. Grading & Drainage o Grade and compact the subgrade. o Field-verify elevations of the existing adjacent parking lot and tie the new slab's grading and drainage into the existing lot's flow pattern so that surface water sheets away from the slab and structures and does not pond at the transition point. o Contractor to propose grading/drainage plan (sketch or marked-up site plan acceptable) as part of the quote submission. Base Preparation o Install compacted aggregate base course (e.g., crushed stone/gravel) beneath the slab. Contractor to specify recommended depth and material based on local soil conditions and frost depth requirements for West Michigan. Compact base material Concrete Slab o Form and pour a reinforced concrete slab, 35 ft x 40 ft (1,400 sq ft). o Minimum slab thickness: 6 inches, or contractor's recommended thickness for the stated vehicle load whichever is greater. Contractor to state proposed thickness in quote. o Minimum concrete compressive strength: 4,000 PSI at 28 days, air-entrained (5-7% air content) for exterior freeze-thaw exposure and resistance to winter deicing salts. o Reinforcement: Rebar (contractor to specify size/spacing) sized appropriately for the stated vehicle loading. o Install control/expansion joints per industry-standard spacing to control cracking. o Finish: broom finish (or contractor-recommended finish suitable for vehicle traffic and drainage). o Cure per manufacturer/industry standard before opening to vehicle traffic.
