Renovation of a theater / auditorium in Parker, Colorado. Completed plans call for the renovation of a theater / auditorium.
Scope of Work: 1. PACE Center has partnered with a Theatre Consultant (Theatre Projects) to provide design documentation and contractor support to streamline this changeover. To improve this process, a modular concept of low-profile rolling wagons with seating permanently mounted to the wagons has been proposed. The wagons connect to each other with coffin locks or similar quick-release hardware and stage pins into the floor of the pit lift in several locations to keep the entire system in position. 2. The shape and number of wagons shown in this concept can be altered as needed for stability and feasibility. If the hinged concept doesn't work in all cases this can be altered to become separate units but all components need to fit in the storage room. The wagons should be as low profile as possible. The pit lift can be lowered to compensate for the height of the wagons to keep the walking surface flush to the house floor, but limiting the wagon height allows the existing modular railing to be used as-is. The railing should be taken into account during the site survey. The floor finish should be a black durable material that can withstand audience wear and tear and be easily cleaned.
