The construction of an active transportation network along Kalamalka Lake Road from 14th Avenue to Highway 6, Pottery Road, new traffic signals at Pottery Road and Highway 6, barrier protected multiuse path and cycle paths on Polson Drive, 14th Ave, and Pottery Road from Highway 6 to 15th Street. This RFP also contains associated road reconstruction, drainage works, sanitary upgrades, and active transportation extensions on adjacent streets. In addition to the work contracted to the City of Vernon the successful bidder will also need to contract with the Regional District of the North Okanagan (RDNO) for the associated watermain works. The Work can be briefly summarized as follows: 1. Kalamalka Lake Road - 11th Ave to Highway 6 (COV): includes sanitary and storm main upgrades, multi-use path facilities, streetlighting, signalization, required curb, letdowns, boulevard modifications, signage and line painting to facilitate install of the multiuse path. 2. Kalamalka Lake Road - 14th Ave to Highway 6 (RDNO): Water system modifications and abandonments for the Reginal District of North Okanagan. The RDNO portion of the scope represents approximate 3% of the total scope. 3. Pottery Road and Highway 6: includes pedestrian and cycle facilities, retaining walls, pathway lighting, intersection signalization, curb, letdowns, drainage, signage and line painting to facilitate install of the pedestrian and two-way cycle facility. 4. 14th Avenue – Polson Drive – 26th Street: includes relocation and install of new concrete roadside barrier, concrete curbs, multiuse path, line painting eradication, new line painting and signage to create protected active transportation connections outside of the major earthwork limits. 5. Pottery Road – Highway 6 to 15th Street: includes install of new concrete roadside barrier, minor concrete curb and two-way cycle, line painting eradication, new line painting and signage to create protected active transportation connections outside of the major earthwork limits.
