Selective demolition including General Construction, Electrical and Plumbing work. Scope of Work: Partial demolition of the former park headquarters office building at 2355 Ada Road, Lima, OH. Work shall include (but is not limited to) the following: Complete demolition of the residential-style portion of the building. The residential portion of the building is approximately 1300 s.f. on the first floor with a second floorand basement. Remove associated concrete walkway and railings. Legally dispose of all debris. Demolish the existing basement level by knocking 2'-0" holes as necessary in to concrete slab-on-grade to allow water drainage. Remove existing columns at concrete block basement walls that laterally support the walls. Push concrete block walls in to collapse the basement walls. Remove all debris (wood , trash, etc. and back fill basement with ODOT 304's/411's compacted stone (engineered fill) in 8 inch layers up to 8 inches from adjacent soil. Add topsoil up to level of adjacent soil. Seeding by Owner. Each layer shall be compacted to 98 percent of the maximum dry density as determined by ASTM D-698 standard proctor method (AASHTO T-99) and +/- 2 percent of its optimum moisture content pavement areas or otherwise directed by Civil Engineer. Contractor shall proof roll the areas that are filled with compacted stone and fill with a 20-ton tandem-axle dump truck until the grade offers a relatively unyielding surface. Contractor to grade stone as required to positive drainage. If any compaction testing is deemed necessary, the testing company will be retained by the Owner at the Owner's expense. Demolish the existing slab on grade garage sections of the building to the west of the residential-style portion of the building. The portion consists of 2 rooms. Remove concrete slab. Maintain the existing McElroy Environmental Center (MEEC) portion of the building west of the garage. The wall separating the MEEC from the garage is to be maintained and modified into an external wall as detailed on the drawing sheet A101. Maintain existing shop/garage building on the east end of the property. Shop/garage building is only to be modified as necessary for modified electrical service detailed below. Remove existing HVAC System including Air Conditioner Condensing Unit, in Gas Furnace and ductwork, grilles, etc. as required for structure demolition. Owner is responsible to disconnection of natural gas from existing building and re-routing to the MEEC. Disconnect the existing electrical service meters and remove electrical panel from basement of the residential style building for relocation into the shop building. Provide new electrical service to supply power to the existing MEEC panel and relocated shop panel. Remove all existing plumbing fixtures, piping, etc. as required for structure demolition. Cap off and mark location of sanitary, storm lines. Shut off water and remove piping from portions of the building being demolished. Reroute water lines to service existing lines into the MEEC and shop buildings, while bypassing demolished portions. See Site Plan drawings. Bonds: Bid Bond required (unspecified amount). The estimated cost of the Project is $77,000.
